Most work software is a filing cabinet with a different label on each drawer. The plan lives in one tool, the hours in another, the invoice in a third, and the email that started all of it in a fourth. Nothing is wrong with any one of them. What is wrong is that you have to enter the same thing four times, and then keep four copies of it agreeing with each other.
Cortex is a workspace where seventeen tools share one memory. We host it for you in the EU — or, if you would rather run it on your own infrastructure, we set that up with you.
Nothing syncs. Everything links.
A scheduled card is the Gantt bar, is the calendar block, is the source of the timesheet entry. Not four records kept in step by an integration — one record shown four ways. Move it anywhere and it has moved everywhere, because there was only ever one thing to move.
The same idea runs through the writing. A [[task]] chip inside a note shows that task’s current column, today, not the column it was in when you typed the note. Archive an email and every chip that referenced it updates. There is nothing to reconcile because nothing was ever duplicated.
Seventeen tools
- Kanban — cards with live links, tags, sub-items. GitHub and Azure DevOps issues sync in as cards; close, reopen and assign flow back.
- Projects — a Gantt whose bars are your actual cards. Phases, milestones, quote-derived budgets, plan against actual.
- Portfolio — a cross-project heat-map: who is overloaded next week, and by how much.
- Mail — real sync over IMAP, Microsoft Graph or the Gmail API, filed onto the right contact and deal.
- Notes — markdown with live chips, backlinks and attachments.
- Calendar — Google and Outlook events beside your cards, publish a card to your own calendar, plus “when is everyone free”.
- Timesheet — drag tasks, mail and meetings onto the day. Fifteen-minute snap.
- Sales — a pipeline fed by the mail you already sync, with funnel analytics and lead-capture forms.
- Products — a price book with tiers and effort templates. Win the quote and it builds the delivery project.
- E-signatures — place fields, send, chase, seal. Timestamped PDF and an append-only audit trail.
- Campaigns — sequences from your own mailbox, with warm-up ramps and reply detection.
- Social — draft, schedule and publish to LinkedIn, with a real post history.
- Competitors — gathered intel, AI-drafted and human-reviewed, as battlecards.
- Resources — a rate catalogue with dated history, so a raise moves future months and never last quarter.
- Reports — branded PDFs compiled in an isolated sandbox, on a schedule, emailing themselves.
- Recruitment — candidates on one stage board, with an identity check before an offer and chips that link a candidate into your notes.
- Documents — contracts, leases, insurance and licences filed against the company they are with. Private by default, shared when you say so, and searchable by their text.
Money that adds up
An approved quote becomes the budget. Hours price at the rate that was in force that month, not today’s rate. A finished phase drafts its own numbered invoice, the client signs it inside Cortex, and a branded report ships the numbers. Quote, budget, invoice, payment, credit note, refund — with margin, work in progress and funding alarms, in any currency at dated ECB rates, so last quarter never silently re-prices itself.
Open at every edge
- Native when X happens, do Y rules run inside Cortex — no second server to keep alive. Prefer your own engine? Signed outbound webhooks, plus published
n8nandNode-REDnodes. - Scoped, revocable machine tokens against a documented OpenAPI surface, and an MCP server so an AI agent can read and act on your workspace — with sends and destructive operations permanently excluded.
- Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or any OpenAI-compatible model on your own account. Every AI output is reviewed by a human before it counts as fact.
Hosted, or on your own infrastructure
Hosted is the usual way in: Cortex runs at cortex.red8.io, one tenant per customer, in the EU. Ask for a 14-day trial and we set up your tenant and invite your admin. Leave whenever you like — you get one archive of everything, and a 30-day window before a deleted tenant is purged, encryption key included.
Self-hosted is available on request. It is not offered off the shelf: we set it up with you, on your own infrastructure, and price it on consultation.
Either way, your data stays yours: a nightly content export to a git repository you choose — GitHub or your own remote — a full JSON export, and full-fidelity per-project bundles.
Private by design
Argon2 password hashing, rotating refresh tokens with reuse detection, TOTP and passkeys. Mail stays private to its owner, finance visibility is per user, and roles are per workspace. Timesheets are shared with the team by default — a workspace policy can let members keep theirs private.
What it costs
Hosted Cortex is priced per seat, in volume bands, so the rate per seat falls as the team grows. Team adds calendar and issue-tracker sync, campaigns, LinkedIn publishing and automation; Business adds the money ledger, e-signature sealing, scheduled reports, API tokens and the MCP server. Self-hosting is priced on consultation. Current pricing is on the product site.
