26.3 — drills you can actually run

15 September 2026. Build a drill session on your phone — blocks, repetitions and rests — and run it from your wrist, with the corner called out loud. A spectator can now mark winners, errors and service faults while you play, without ever touching the score.

26.2 — a Me tab that argues with itself

29 August 2026. The Me tab was rebuilt around long-term trends, a recovery reading and training load, each shown next to the raw numbers it was worked out from. Also new: a spectator scoreboard and filtering by court.

26.1

26 July 2026. The first release of 2026, free for iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad.

Why the numbers jumped from 2.4 to 26.1

badmintho moved to calendar versioning in 2026. The first number is the year and the second is the release within that year, so 26.1 is the first release of 2026 — nothing was skipped between 2.4.0 and it. The sequential numbers below are kept exactly as they shipped.

The 2.x series, 2025

  • 2.4.0 — 31 July 2025. Shared scoring: host a game that other people can join, so more than one person can keep the score.
  • 2.3.0 — 1 July 2025. Match mode. Individual games group into a match, so performance can be read across the whole thing rather than game by game.
  • 2.2.1 — 10 June 2025. The workout pauses and resumes by itself as you start and finish games or drills.
  • 2.1.0 — 8 June 2025. A pause button, which in hindsight should not have taken until 2.1.
  • 2.0.2 — 6 May 2025. Fixes to game-details sharing and score display.
  • 2.0.1 — 18 April 2025. Save a game as a drill, for when a drill was started as a game by mistake.
  • 2.0.0 — 5 April 2025. Difficulty ratings for games and drills, and the option to share results.

The 1.x series, 2025

  • 1.5.0 — 26 March 2025. Training drills joined matches in the session history.
  • 1.4.0 — 7 March 2025. Better iPad compatibility, and improvements on macOS.
  • 1.3.3 — 4 March 2025. Interface fixes, mostly for iPad.
  • 1.3.2 — 27 January 2025. Game stats.
  • 1.3.1 — 13 January 2025. Drills, with effort and speed tracked through a training session.
